Meta-Aramid yarn is a lightweight and soft yarn which is made from meta-aramid staple fiber. It is known for it's flame retardant properties and excellent thermal stability.
- Flame Retardant : It is nonflammable as it self extinguishes itself when it is exposed to flames.
- High Temperature Stability : It can withstand temperature as high 220 degree Celsius without losing it's strength.
- Corrosion resistance : It is resistant to acids and alkalis except for few strong ones.
- High Elongation : It's low stiffness and semi crystalline structure gives it a soft textile structure making it suitable for designing protective gears.
- Moderate Strength : In comparison to para-aramid, meta-aramid is less strong due to it's semi crystalline structure.
